Prayer Before Traveling Aboard

As planned some time ago, Wei Siang, Kenneth and I prayed for a safe trip to Malaysia at the Temple in Bugis early this morning.

As part of our plan, we also attempted Kau Cim in hopes of achieving good fortune for our personal wish. For those who wish to know what is this all about, you may want to read up the explanation from the Wikipedia as shown below.

The prediction begins with the cup storing a number of the sticks. After the querent has finished his devotions to the main deity, the querent kneels and thinks silently or whispers it to the deity about his question while holding the cup between his plams. This part needs to be done decisively as one should not shift questions of hesitate on the question in the middle of the rite.

The shaking of the cylinder, which is usually tipped slightly downward, results at least one stick leaving the cylinder and being dropped onto the floor. In most cases, if multiple sticks leave the cylinder, those fortunes would not count and must be shaken again. Each stick, with its designated number, represents one answer.

When a single stick falls out, the number will correspond to the 100 written oracles with an answer on it. The writing on the piece of paper will provide an answer to the question. To confirm the validity of the answer given by the deity, the querent will pick up and toss two jiaobei blocks.

The interpretation bestows on me by the deity for my future education are:
Interpretation: Good
The coast is clear. Your deed pleases people. Your efforts get good return. Joy, peace and stability for the family.

After a quick repast at a market nearby, we headed to Wei Siang's 4-room abode in Tampines to game on his Play Station 3 (Some fighting games & FIFA). Our initial plan for the eve of our trip tomorrow was to stay over at his house since it is nearer to the Tampines Interchange. Unfortunately, his parents rejected our stay there.

Maybe at Kenneth's house? We'll see about it tomorrow. SO EXCITED!
