After a present-hunting day out with Kenneth Yik, I gleefully learnt that he is a meticulous guy

I have never seen a man who can get so stressed-up over choosing for a present for particularly a GUY in my whole lifetime. He's like, 'the greatest fear of choosing a present for a friend is to acknowledge the fact that he doesn't like what I chose for him.'
From my personal experience with make friends, their concept of choosing a friend's present is normally ' Let's share and buy a not-so-steep gadget from Challenger' (Okay, maybe that's my perspective).

I have never seen a man who can get so stressed-up over choosing for a present for particularly a GUY in my whole lifetime. He's like, 'the greatest fear of choosing a present for a friend is to acknowledge the fact that he doesn't like what I chose for him.'

The sole reason I find acceptable from Kenneth was when he explained that the Paranoia stems from Wei Siang being his best NS friend. Spending a bomb on something he doesn't like/ or already have may result in sheer awkwardness between both of them.
He added, 'For a good friend like him, I will go to the expense of buying anything even it's beyond budget'. In other words, he meant that he has no budget when it comes to buying a present for Wei Siang.

Also, for a fact that he has never been so meticulous and paranoid with such a situation before, shows how much he treasures their friendship. And because he was one of those people who conveniently chip in monies with a group of friends to buy a present, he has no idea
His constant complaint of migraine was owing to the fact that he had overused his brain cells from pondering what to purchase that could justify the amount Wei Siang will have to spend on our treats. Really, all the time wasted thinking what to buy for the first three hours could have been spent worthwhile by choosing a better present only if we had done our homework earlier.
We met at 1300hrs and only began shopping at 1600hrs! We thought of branded shirt, underwear, jackets, watch, shoes, iPod, perfume and sundry. However none we thought that he might adore. Yes, we had also thought of getting him a jersey too; but we have no idea what kind of jersey he desire.
We want that surprise factor from him, y'know? Our initial plan was to get him out on any dates near his birthday and make every single treat on the house for him (inclusive a nice dinner, Kbox and a surprise birthday cake).
However, Wei Siang's concept of being the birthday boy was being the one paying for others' meals. He doesn't buy our idea of we-treat-you-because-it-is-your-birthday and if we insist on paying for his meal he'd rather not celebrate his birthday with us.

1. Whip up a dish for Kenneth when he was ravenous

On his birthday celebration, I'm so gonna take down his surprise face (dunno what will he be thinking though) when he unwraps our gifts.
Some of our lamest & craziest ideas:
1. Buy seven pieces of Aimani underwear and label them accordingly to seven days of the week
2. Smash a cake on his face
3. Make three shirts so that each states 'I', 'Love' & 'Wei Siang'.
4. Make one fake and real presents. The fake one will be used to trick him into believing our haphazardness into planning his present.
Seriously speaking, Wei Siang shouldn't have went to the expense of treating us such a fabulous meal at Kenny Roger since it's his birthday.

Our kind Kenneth insisted to treat us drinks from Koi for waiting for him on last Friday. Of course, it's natural to feel bad inside for letting such a nice friend to allow him to go to the expense.
In the end, I persuaded Kenneth not to treat me with the drinks since I don't think there's any obligations for him to act with that kind of civilities. Wei Siang was pretty touched when he saw us at the Courts when we handed him the Startbuck drinks.
In order not to make Wei Siang return him the money, our generous Kenneth instinctively stated that the drinks was one of his unused Starbucks voucher. As Wei Siang did not want to put him in difficult spot, he did not reject his offer and pretended to believe in what Kenneth instate.
